The capital city has a couple of orientation events coming up in partnership with the CNIB to get people used to their navigation apps for smartphones.
Participants will learn all about the apps—XploreNinja for Android and Blindsquare for iPhone, which help people navigate the downtown pedestrian mall.
People will learn how to install, adjust and use the app, as well as learn how they help people with things such as vision loss and blindness.
The events are taking place next Monday, July 31 in the Foran Green room at City Hall. The Android app orientation is from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while the one for iPhones is from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
People interested in attending must register at inclusion@stjohns.ca or by calling 709-576-4450 by Thursday at noon.
