The minister responsible for Women and Gender Equality agrees there is room to improve access to health care for transgender people.
Last week, the NDP called on government to focus on improving funding for gender-affirming care not covered by MCP, such as post-op medications and procedures associated with top surgery.
Minister Pam Parsons says there are health care supports available for trans and gender-diverse people, but there is always room for improvement.
Parsons says she supports bringing in any additional resources and is committed to working with the Minister of Health in doing so.
