Country Ribbon is increasing its production after installing new equipment.
The company held an official opening of its Air Chill System yesterday, which was paid for in-part with federal and provincial money.
The federal and provincial governments announced more than $8 million last December to go towards the project. The expansion cost around $20 million total.
The air-chill technology cools the product without retaining moisture, increasing the amount of chicken going to local grocery stores.
