The Town of Conception Bay South and the RNC are warning drivers and students to be careful as school bells ring today for the first time since June.
The municipality held a news conference yesterday outside St. George’s Elementary, appealing to drivers to slow down and be patient, and cautioning students to be aware of their surroundings.
CBS Mayor Darrin Bent says for many, this may be the first time they bring their child to school.
He advises drivers to have patience and give themselves more time in the mornings.
RNC Constable James Cadigan says there will be an increased police presence in school zones today.
He says they will be there to support students and try to make it a safe outcome for everyone.
