One woman has died after a house fire in the capital city over the weekend.
First responders rushed to the home on Newfoundland Drive around 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
A woman inside the home was rescued by firefighters and taken to hospital with serious injuries. The woman succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has launched an investigation into the fire. Anyone with video footage from the area of Newfoundland Drive near Middleton Street between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday is asked to contract RNC or Crime Stoppers.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is also working to determine the cause of death.
