One person is dead after a house fire in the capital city early Tuesday morning.

Crews were called to the blaze on Watson Street in the east end during the overnight hours.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working to identify the deceased and determine the cause of death.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
