The provincial government has unveiled plans to build a new high school in the town of Paradise.
Minister Krista Lynn Howell was on hand for the official announcement in Paradise this morning.
A lot of things remain up in the air however. Site selection, design and configuration will begin in the coming months with funding to be allocated in the upcoming budget.
Parents in Paradise have long lobbied for a high school for the fast-growing municipality, instead of busing students to school in Mount Pearl.
In December, area MHA Paul Dinn indicated that he was encouraged by a meeting with the Minister and representatives of the Paradise Needs a High School Committee.
