A young boy who turned a horrific accident into a way to help others was honoured in the House of Assembly last week.
Topsail-Paradise MHA Paul Dinn rose to recognize seven-year old Sully Ryan, who he calls a “true example of what a leader is.”
Ryan’s pinky finger was severed three years ago during a skating accident on The Loop.
He says the skate hit a growth plate on his pinky finger, and as a result it is unable to grow.
Despite that, Dinn says Sully still plays hockey, remains positive, and has even come up with a way to help fundraise for the War Amps.
Dinn says that in January the young boy hosted a Tim Hortons trading card event to raise funds and awareness about skating safely. Dinn says Sully hopes to make it an annual event.
