NL Health Services says it is working on proposals to address the concerns of cancer doctors in Grand Falls-Windsor looking for supports in the provision of cancer care in the area.

The internal medicine specialists threatened to withdraw services if their requests are not met.

They’ve received the support of the local town council and others.

They’re seeking additional staff including clerical workers, a full-time nurse, personal care attendant and nurse practitioner.

The health authority says cancer care in central is continuing to be offered without interruption and they’re working on ways to address the concerns raised.
