The provincial government has extended the deadline to register tourist accommodations.
Last year, the province announced that all tourist accommodations, both licensed and unlicensed, must register with the province by March 31.
That includes anyone offering their property for rent through a number of online platforms like Airbnb or Vrbo.
The province has now extended that deadline to June 30.
The Department of Tourism says 2200 registrations have been received, showing what it calls “excellent cooperation among tourism operators”
According to the department, the deadline extension will provide more time to process the registrations and update partner platforms.
