A vigil will be held this evening to honour the life and memory of a woman who was the victim of a homicide three weeks ago.
Friends and supporters are encouraging others to join them in downtown St. John’s to remember Nariman Alghafour.
She was the estranged wife of Ibrahim Alahmad, who has been charged with her murder.
Her body was found in an abandoned home on Liam Drive in Outer Cove on the morning of March 5.
Alahmad, who was previously charged with threatening and assaulting her, is now in custody at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary as the murder case works its way through the courts.
Tonight’s vigil is set for 5 p.m. at the steps of Supreme Court on Duckworth Street.
