Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a plan Thursday to expand $10-a-day child care across Canada.
The initiative involves over $1 billion in loans and grants for non-profit and public child-care providers. The funding will be managed by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation with an aim to increase child-care spaces and renovate existing ones to help enhance child-care access.
Fairness for every generation means access to affordable child care. We’re building more affordable spaces and recruiting more early childhood educators, to save more parents thousands of dollars every year. pic.twitter.com/hGk0uSKfop
