The unemployment rate in Newfoundland and Labrador has dropped into single digits, but it’s still significantly higher than the national average.
Our jobless rate was 10.1 per cent in March but it dropped to 9.1 per cent in April, according to Statistics Canada.
Canada’s national unemployment rate was 6.1 per cent in April.
The rate in metro went in the other direction. It increased to 7.1 per cent in April from 6.4 in March.
