The Town of Paradise has signed an MOU with the St. John’s SPCA to provide direct animal care and a safe haven for lost or missing pets from the town.
The five-year agreement will see the town donate $10,000 to the SPCA annually to support their Way Home Capital Campaign, and in return the organization will provide care for domestic animals picked up by municipal enforcement officers and by residents.
People who live in the town will then be able to claim their missing pets through the SPCA.
The agreement will also see both parties work together to offer adoption days, public education events, and community outreach initiatives.
Mayor Dan Bobbett says residents of the town will also get access to some of the SPCA’s other initiatives such as the Spay and Neuter Assistance Program.
The agreement is in effect immediately.
Lots of tails wagging at the SPCA today! We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve signed an MOU with @SPCAStJohns and are happy to provide $10,000 over the next five years. We think this is totally pawsome! ???? pic.twitter.com/61dhYWPKxF
