The Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy is in Newfoundland providing programming to budding young players.
A girls clinic was held in St. John’s yesterday, with programming in Upper Island Cove this morning, and a Rally Cap Clinic in St. John’s this afternoon.
A clinic is scheduled for St. John’s tomorrow morning, and St. John’s Challenger Baseball is taking place tomorrow afternoon.
Baseball NL executive director Ryan Garland says having the Blue Jays Academy here is a special opportunity for young players.
“The Blue Jays Academy is a partner with all of our provincial associations,” says Garland, “and this year we were lucky enough to be chosen for a week of programming.” The programming wraps up with a clinic in Paradise on Friday.
It’s part of a very busy week of activities involving baseball in NL. Baseball NL Day is being held this Saturday with a variety of special events throughout the day. It coincides with provincial championships taking place on the east and west coasts starting Friday and wrapping up on Sunday.
