The Royal Astronomical Society is inviting stargazers and the curious out this evening to have an up-close and personal look at our closest celestial neighbour.
Members of the society will be at the Johnson GEO Centre this evening from 7-9 p.m. with telescopes on hand to allow people the opportunity to have a detailed look at the surface of the moon.
Royal Astronomical Society member Garry Dymond says members love to pass their knowledge along.
“We’re there to show them this is what you can see through a two-inch reflector, but this is what you can see through a six, and this is what you can see through a 14-inch telescope!”
He says people can even take pictures through the telescopes.
The event is scheduled for this evening, but will be moved to Saturday night if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
