Many communities across Newfoundland and Labrador were feeling the heat this past summer, which has gone down as one of the warmest on record.
Environment Canada meteorologist David Neil says new records were set in several areas in terms of the average temperature.
Bonavista, Port aux Basques, Corner Brook, Gander, Terra Nova, Cartwright, L’Anse-au-Loup, and Nain all set records for the warmest summer. The Lab City and Wabush area tied their record. St. John’s, St. Lawrence, and Happy Valley Goose Bay all had their second-warmest summer in recorded history.
