High winds and choppy seas on the Cabot Straight have forced Marine Atlantic to cancel all scheduled crossings for today and this evening.
The forecast for Channel-Port-aux-Basques includes a snow squall watch with southerly winds switching around to north westerlies, with gusts between 60 and 70 km/h through to tomorrow.
The snow squall watch is for tonight into Thursday, with the Environment Canada noting “Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common.”
