The Canadian Taypayers Federation says government should have focused on more meaningful tax cuts in this year’s budget.
This year’s provincial budget includes record spending and record borrowing, and the promised return to balance has been pushed back another year.
Devon Drover says Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are concerned about affordability, and the rising cost of living, and he would have liked to see that addressed.
“Instead, we’re seeing select handouts to certain industries, which is not going to go far enough to deal with this crisis. And, on top of that, we see another year of a broken promise on balancing the budget, they promised last year that this would be the year, and instead we’re seeing an over $300 million deficit.”
