Basketball fans in the metro region are in for a treat tonight as the Harlem Globetrotters take to the court.
The team showcases elite basketball skills and comedy in their shows.
Prince “Baller” Moss has been with the Globetrotters for three years, but he almost played basketball in this province.
Before he signed with the Globetrotters, Moss reveals that he was about to come play basketball with the Newfoundland Rogues.
The exhibition-style of play is different from what fans would see in the NBA, but Moss has a simple piece of advice for learning the necessary skills to be a part of the team.
“We tell everybody just to be themselves,” says Moss.
“That’s how we got to be Harlem Globetrotters.” As far as particular skills go, Moss says it is important to practice every day. He says “if you want to be good at spinning the ball, you’ve got to spin that ball every day.”
The Harlem Globetrotters will be marking their 100th anniversary next year and Moss says they have some exciting things ahead.
