The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of the Deaf is responding to a matter that it says was fully and formally resolved several months ago.
The association was responding to Kim and Todd Churchill who went public this week about a defamation lawsuit they won against the provincial and national associations for the deaf.
The matter was formally resolved in February.
The NL Association of the Deaf says it recognizes that the matter may continue to attract attention, and they do not see it as representative of who they are or the work they do.
It says it remains focused on advancing equity, accessibility and the cultural and linguistic rights of Deaf people through advocacy, education and community engagement.
