The provincial government says Deloitte has been chosen to complete a nursing core staffing review at a number of facilities in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The review will include a detailed examination of patients, staffing and organizational factors that contribute to the workload of health care staff including registered nurses, nurse practitioners, LPNs and personal care attendants in certain health care facilities.
Those facilities include the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander, the Labrador Health Centre, Units 4 North A and 4 North B at the Health Sciences, the Placentia Health Centre and Lions Manor, the long-term care home in Corner Brook, and community health in the Mount Pearl Square.
Deloitte will also provide recommendations on how to improve staffing and how health care is provided at each of the facilities.
