St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen says the city is doing its part to help address speeding on Waterford Bridge Road.

The provincial government has installed a speed camera on the busy, but narrow, thouroughfare near St. Mary’s Elementary.

Mayor Danny Breen says the city is aware that the road is a problem area for speeding and has taken a number of measures to address the situation.

He says more enforcement has been put on Waterford Bridge Road which saw higher traffic volumes as a result of road work on Pitts Memorial in recent years. He says they’ll look at traffic patterns on the road once Pitts fully reopens to consider whether other measures should be taken.
