The NDP wants the health care system to do away with unpaid internships.
Jim Dinn says with an over dependency on expensive travel agency nurses, there’s “got to be a better way.”
He says paying interns would be a way to help reduce the number of private agency nurses working in the system.
He says one way is to redirect the money spent on travel nurses toward paid internships and work terms for nursing students, licensed practical nurses and registered nurses.
