The province has awarded Galloper Gold Corporation exclusive mineral rights to the Glover Island Exempt Mineral Land on the province’s west coast.
Galloper Gold is a junior exploration company that holds most of the mineral licenses on Glover Island outside the Exempt Mineral Land.
Glover Island is located in Grand Lake, roughly 30 km southeast of Corner Brook.
An EML means that mineral rights are reserved for the Crown.
The department undertook an RFP for the land as part of an effort to unlock provincial mineral potential.
The area consists of 19 mineral prospects and showings, most of which are for gold, and separate prospects for copper and zinc.
