The Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association says it is very concerned following revelations that the Education Accord has citations in it that do not exist.
The CBC first reported the news last week, indicating that at least 15 sources in the document do not exist.
Both of the authors of the report and education minister Bernard Davis have acknowledged the errors and say they will be corrected.
Davis, adamant that AI was not used to create the report, does not believe the document’s credibility is being drawn into question.
NLTA President Dale Lambe says it was “disappointing” to hear about the errors.
While he maintains optimism in the report, it is forcing teachers to look at the recommendations made with a different lens.
