A National Health Care Innovation Council has been created to help bring health innovation into practice to improve patient access and outcomes.
NLHS held its annual Health Innovation Summit this past week, hearing pitches from health innovators on everything from robotic surgery to accessible birthing options.
The Vice President of Digital Health, Innovation and Research with NL Health Services, Ron Johnson, says the aim is to develop data-driven, evidence-based and personalized health care solutions.
He says one of the major developments out of their recent summit was the creation of an innovation council to help prioritize solutions.
“One of the things that we announced during this summit was the creation of a National Health Care Council that I will lead, and is being facilitated by…HealthPro.”
He believes it will help to “break down the barriers of moving innovation from one jurisdiction to another.”
