November 11th and the days leading up to it are an opportunity for Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador to reflect back on its foundation.
MUN, which is marking its 100th anniversary this year, has held Remembrance ceremonies in St. John’s and Corner Brook.
Vice President Lisa Browne, who’s responsible for external relations, says their founding purpose was as a living memorial. She says it’s quite a legacy to have.
“It’s also an opportunity for us to remember the people who have given their lives, and we do that in a number of ways with ceremonies at MUN campuses in St. John’s and Grenfell as well as the Marine Institute,” says Browne.
“In addition to reflecting on the past, it’s also an opportunity to look to the future ahead.”
