Officials with the Department of Health will meet with the Association of Allied Health Professionals this week to discuss the possibility of expanding a core staffing review in the health care system.
A review is underway, focused primarily on nursing levels, but the union has urged the department to consider expanding its review of core staffing to include other health professionals.
The AAHP represents a range of health professionals focused on diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and the safe discharge of patients from hospital.
The department says AAHP’s request is under review and it intends to discuss the situation with the union this week.
