Property owners in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s will see a reduction in their residential and commercial mil rate.
The town is dropping the mil rate to 6.6 – a move council says will provide some tax relief to households and businesses.
The town is continuing with its 20 per cent property tax cut for residents receiving the Guaranteed Income Supplement.
Other highlights of the budget include decreases in water and sewer fees and the introduction of a new Low Income Property Tax Reduction Program.
