Thousands are without power as crews from across the island work to restore electricity after a night of freezing rain.
Over 2,500 customers on the Southern Shore and St. Mary’s Bay are without power as Newfoundland Power carries out emergency repairs on the lines. Power is expected to be restored early this evening.
In central, NL Hydro officials are working on numerous outages around Springdale, with some areas having been without electricity since early yesterday evening.
Near Harry’s Harbour, Jackson’s Cove and Langdon’s Cove, power has been out since early yesterday morning, with no fix expected until at least midnight tonight.
