NLHS says staff will be ready when its urgent care clinic opens in the former Costco building on Stavanger Drive on Monday.
The site opens just months after the Ambulatory Health Hub opened its doors for blood collection, minor surgeries, and other testing.
The clinic will only be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with room to expand hours further if staffing allows.
Megan Carey, who is with NL Health Services, says the site will be used to bridge the gap between family doctors and the ER.
“Think about a walk-in clinic where folks can come for their minor ailments, with the hope that we treat people in the right place for anything that may not be life-threatening. This is the exact place to come,” she said.
