Police in Harbour Grace were tipped off to an impaired driver after he made his way through a fast-food drive-thru in Carbonear Wednesday night.

RCMP were contacted and, armed with a description of the driver and his vehicle, they located him a short time later.

The driver provided a breath sample above the provincial limit, but below the criminal threshold for impaired driving.

He was ticketed for having open alcohol in a vehicle.

His licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was seized.
