RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay have laid charges against four people in connection with an incident involving guns and orders to stay inside and lock doors and windows.
RCMP were called to the area of Mesher and Lethbridge streets following reports of a person who had fired multiple rounds from a firearm and was seen walking about the area.
Residents were asked to shelter-in-place while police dog Phox led officers to a home on Learning Street. Six people were called out of the home and arrested without incident.
A search of the home resulted in the seizure of a firearm, cocaine, “large amounts” of cannabis, drug paraphernalia and various weapons.
Forty-five-year-old Darryl Dyson has been charged with numerous drug offences and breaches of release orders. Thirty-eight-year-old Holly Chaulk and 55-year-old Paul Vader are charged with failing to comply with a release order, while 23-year-old Petapen Hurley is facing seven counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Two young women, one from Sheshatshiu and the other from Happy Valley-Goose Bay, were released without charge.
Darryl Dyson, 45, faces charges of:
– Failure to comply with a condition of a release order – five counts,
– Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
– Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling,
– Possession of property obtained by crime.
