Anywhere from 25-50 cm is on the way for eastern Newfoundland, as another winter wallop makes its way to the island.
Environment Canada has issued a orange winter storm warning, forecasting of another snowfall in areas East of the Bonavista Peninsula.
Winds are expected to stay high throughout the day, with northerlies gusting to 80 km/h, with snowfall rates of 2 to 5 cm per hour at times.
“Up on the Northern Avalon, I do have in the winter storm warning right now with 25 to 50 cm from this evening through till Thursday morning,” he told VOCM News.
“The lower end of that range is more likely to be along the coast, lower elevations, areas like downtown, but then you get into the higher elevations, Mount Pearl, Paradise, some of the higher spots inland, and that’s where you can see those higher end of that range, closer to 40-50 cm possible.”
