Blood collection will continue at the Waterford Hospital for the time-being as NL Health Services works on procuring a new outpatient blood collection site in the capital city’s west end.
It’s among the last few services currently offered at the Waterford Hospital which is in the process of shutting down.
In the meantime, the assertive community treatment team, which provides assistance to adults with severe and persistent mental illness who are living in the community, is expected to move from the Waterford to the privately-owned Beothuk Building on Crosbie Road.
That move is expected to happen in the coming months.
NLHS says no decisions have yet been made on the disposition of the old Waterford Hospital property once health services are no longer offered there.
