All evidence has been entered at the preliminary inquiry for a man accused of dangerous driving that killed two people.
Fifty-four-year-old Roger Hunt of Trinity, in Bonavista North, was charged this time last year in connection with the tragedy on July 23rd of 2024.
The single-vehicle crash occurred around 10 in the morning on Route 320 near Hare Bay.
It’s alleged Hunt was the driver of a truck that went out of control and crashed, killing his two passengers, a man and woman both aged 62.
Hunt suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and was charged seven months later with two counts of dangerous driving causing death.
Evidence at the preliminary inquiry in Gander wrapped up this week, with final submissions set for March 20th.
A judge will then decide if the case should proceed to trial.
Hunt remains free on conditions pending the outcome.
