Memorial University has received over $10-million from the Hebron Project which will go towards infrastructure at its high-performance data centre.
The Centre for Analytics, Informatics, and Research – also known as CAIR – is a free space for students to build AI and other digital tools.
MUN calls the money a “game changer,” saying it will help students and faculty collaborate with external agencies, private companies, and start-ups.
Dr. Tana Allen, Vice-president of research and innovation at MUN says she is very excited about what the money means for CAIR.
She calls it “absolutely essential for Memorial to be positioned to stay at the edge of new developments in technology,” and for their students, faculty and staff to have access to that – which is what the funding will help them do.
