First Light is set to release a significant report on Indigenous incarceration next week.

The report is being described by the group as a “province-wide demographic snapshot” conducted at all five adult correctional facilities in the province.

First Light says it is the first comprehensive report on Indigenous incarceration in “more than a generation,” noting that the study found “significant overrepresentation and gaps in access to culturally appropriate services.”

The report will be released publicly on Monday.
