Just two hours before an 8:00 p.m. ET deadline set by Donald Trump, the U.S. President has agreed to a two-week cease fire with Iran – predicated on Iran reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump caused fear around the world after posting that “a whole civilization will die,” if Iran didn’t meet his deadline to reopen the important shipping channel.
Pakistan came forward with a peace plan, calling for a ceasefire while negotiations between the U.S. and Iran continued – something Trump indicated earlier today he was aware of.
The president now says according to a post on Truth Social, he will agree to a two-week ceasefire with Iran on condition that the strait reopens to shipping.
Iran has confirmed that a ceasefire agreement has been reached.
