Shots rang out at the White House Correspondents Dinner last night with President Donald Trump at the head table.
People began diving under tables and security whisked the President and Vice-President away.
A 31-year-old man, who appeared to be acting alone, was taken down by security but one of the Secret Service agents was shot. It struck his bullet-proof vest, and President Trump says he is doing well.
The President did not get a chance to speak at the event, which was being held at the Washington Hilton Hotel.
Social media posts that appear to match the man arrested show he is a highly educated tutor with a master’s degree in computer science and an amateur video game developer. He apparently ran through a security checkpoint in an attempt to gain access to the ballroom.
