Government House Leader Lloyd Parrott and the Opposition’s Elvis Loveless were expelled from the House of Assembly today for a shouting match held just outside the chamber on Thursday.
Last week’s sitting of the House ended on a raucous note, and culminated when Parrott and Loveless challenged each other to take their differences outside.
They then engaged in a loud and aggressive shouting match behind the Speakers chair – something the NDP’s Sheilagh O’Leary called “frightening.”
Speaker Paul Lane today ruled that the incident was unacceptable and he ordered both members to withdraw from the House of Assembly for the day.
