A man who was under a two-year Canada-wide driving prohibition chose to get behind the wheel regardless this week, but police caught up with him.
The 44-year-old, who was driving with an illegible license plate attached, was stopped by Bay Roberts RCMP on Central Street in the evening of Canada Day.
The driver, who is from Marysvale, was released to appear later on a new charge of driving while prohibited.
The vehicle was seized and impounded.
