The new slipway in Quidi Vidi Village is now open.

The old structure, which was some 40-years-old, was condemned by the city in 2024 due to safety concerns.

That prompted a strong reaction from local residents, who were concerned that the structure would be done away with entirely.

Construction to replace the slipway began earlier this year, and it reopened for public use earlier this week.
