The provincial government says it is looking at ways to provide parking at healthcare facilities “that does not create barriers for patients and visitors.”
One of the commitments in the PC Bluebook last year was to provide free parking at healthcare facilities throughout the province.
In a statement to VOCM News, the department of health says they are looking at the situation, but no detail is given as to how or when a new system could be put in place.
They do note, however, that following through on the promise will require the development of a plan that would ensure parking intended for patients is not used by the general public.
