There are still 26 fires burning in Labrador with one area in the Labrador City pocket still on an evacuation order. People in three other zones nearby which had been evacuated were allowed back in yesterday, but with the proviso that they be ready to go again should the call be made.

Forestry Minister Pleaman Forsey says they are monitoring all the fires in Labrador, especially in the western part.

“Our crews are doing great, providing air support with the bird dog, the choppers…”

There is a risk of thundershowers this afternoon and tonight.
