A child riding a bike suffered serious and potentially life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Nain Monday evening.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Harmony and Angel streets in Nain around 8:45 p.m.

RCMP say the child was taken to the local clinic and then airlifted to hospital for further treatment.

The driver stayed, who on the scene, has been cooperating with police who are now looking for witnesses or video footage around the time of the collision.
