A woman has been arrested and charged following a firearms incident in the community of Branch on Monday.

Placentia-Whitbourne RCMP were called to a home in the community just after 2:00 Monday afternoon.

One victim reported being assaulted by a woman, and when police contacted the suspect she allegedly threatened more violence.

A witness reported seeing the woman standing outside with a firearm.

The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Petrina Nash, was arrested without incident, and a pellet gun was seized.

Nash is now facing charges of assault, two counts of uttering threats, mischief, and possessing a weapon or imitation for a dangerous purpose.

She appeared in court yesterday.
