There will be a temporary but significant change to the transportation network in metro beginning today.
It involves the intersection of the Trans Canada highway westbound Exit 42. Anyone who would normally make a left turn onto Kenmount Road toward Donovan’s will be required to turn right and proceed through the roundabout at the Kenmount Road Extension and Karwood Drive intersection to reach their destination.
Government says the move is in response to concerns where vehicles make that left turn onto Kenmount can impede right-turning traffic due to “vehicle stacking” and sightline limitations.
Provincial transportation officials will monitor vehicle flow throughout the pilot project to assess its effectiveness and whether permanent changes are warranted.
