Negotiations to reach new collective agreements between Memorial University and its unions are underway during a tumultuous period notable for cutbacks including the elimination of some positions.
Five unions represent faculty and staff at Memorial: the Canadian Union of Public Employees, the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public Employees, the Memorial University of Newfoundland Faculty Association, the Lecturers’ Union of Memorial University of Newfoundland and the Teaching Assistants’ Union at MUN.
Some meetings have taken place with more meetings scheduled over the next month or so.
